The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has unveiled infrastructure plans for a dedicated cargo/freight center, second runway, hangars, access roads and more while positioning Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) Abuja  for growth.

This is as key aviation stakeholders including NCAA, NAMA, Police, Customs, airlines, Julius Berger, and others called for a continued support from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in protecting businesses and encouragement for private sector-led infrastructure like aprons and taxiways.

FAAN Managing Director/Chief Executive, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, unveiled the infrastructure plans at a stakeholders’ meeting on Thursday, 5 March 2026, at the AVSEC Training Centre, ITZ, NAIA Abuja.

The session addressed key concerns including infrastructure, MRO activities, apron access control, home-based parking compliance, cargo plans, amongst others.

Represented by the Director of Commercial and Business Development, Ms. Adebola Joy Agunbiade,  Kuku thanked participants and reaffirmed FAAN’s commitment and sustained engagements for mutual benefits.

Participants hailed the meeting as a welcome development, urging regular forums to sustain understanding and collaboration for enhanced service delivery.
