Michael Achimugu honoured by Northern Youth Group

The Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Michael Achimugu,  has been honoured with Vanguard of Good Leadership & Epitome of Hope award by the Council of Northern Youth Advocates of Nigeria (CNYAN).

The award was in recognition of Achimugu’s immense contribution towards a united one indivisible Nigeria.

The CNYAN President, Mohammed Abdulrazaq, presented the award to Achimugu on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the NCAA corporate headquarters in Abuja.

The group commended Achimugu’s contributions to leadership, youth development, and national unity, describing him as a vanguard of good leadership and model for youth development.

Responding, Achimugu expressed appreciation for the recognition, attributing to the collective efforts of his team, the unwavering support of the Hon. Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo (SAN) and the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo.

Mr Achimugu promised not to rest on his oars, reaffirming his deep commitment to effective service delivery and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure safe, secure and passenger-friendly aviation industry in Nigeria.

Present at the event were Senior Special Assistant to the DGCA and Head of Flight Operations and Adjudication, Mrs AbdulMalik Ifueko, the Head of Public Relations Department, Mr Michael Otunumeruke, and other staffers of the Directorate who variously described the award as well-deserved.
