IAPH, IMO meet over port safety
The International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) have met over issues surrounding cybercrime, ISPS code and its effective implementation, illegal drug trafficking, strategies against organised crime and piracy, and the safety and security of seamen at sea.
The meeting, between the IAPH Board, led by its President, Jens Meier, and IMO Secretary-General, Mr. Arsenio Domínguez, too place on the sidelines of IAPH Board meeting at IMO Headquarters in London.
The Managing Director/CEO, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, joined the IAPH President, Jens Meier, in the meeting.
The meeting also highlighted strategies for port authorities to prioritize and implement these measures for effective port management.
