The Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos has conducted a crash simulation exercise to examine the level of preparedness of the airport‘s response to emergencies.
This full scale exercise which is carried out biennially, was conducted in-line with ICAO regulations to gauge and assess the airport’s emergency plan. The exercise was overseen by Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Several agencies participated in the simulation exercise, they include Nigerian AirForce, Port Health Services, Lagos State Fire Service, amongst others.
The core responding departments from MMA included Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS), Aviation Medical Services (AVMED), Aviation Security (AVSEC) Airport Operations, Safety Services as well as the Public Affairs Department.
The exercise was successfully carried out in strict compliance with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs) 2023.
