Tin Can Port Customs gets new CAC

The Tin Can Island Port Area Command, Nigeria Customs Service, now has a new Customs Area Controller (CAC). He is Comptroller Frank O. Onyeka. He took over the leadership from Comptroller Dera Nnadi, who has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General of Customs.

At a short handing over on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the command’s headquarters, ACG Dera Nnadi welcomed his successor and enumerated a lot of successes recorded by his administration.

The successes included improved trade facilitation, collaboration with stakeholders, a good working place  (rebuilding of the command’s headquarters after 40 years of establishment) and regular promotion of staff.

All these made it possible for the command to join the Apapa Customs Command in the league trillion revenue collectors recently. The immediate past controller, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs Dera Nnadi, announced that the command collected N1,226,777,245, 875.97.

Nnadi thanked all the stakeholders, sister agencies and the media for making all the successes possible and, therefore, enjoined them to extend such support to Frank O. Onyeka.

While speaking, Comptroller FO Onyeka expressed his commitment to the policy thrust of the Comptroller-General of Customs and his management team and also aligned himself to the exemplary leadership qualities of Nnadi in areas of revenue generation, anti-smuggling activities and most importantly the infrastructural transformation of the Command.

The new CAC promised to operate an all-inclusive administration and  called on all critical stakeholders, security agencies, freight forwarders, terminal operators and the media to join him to sustain the legacy of the ACG Nnadi and build on it.

Comptroller Frank O. Onyeka holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science; a Master’s in Public Administration and has attended other training where he obtained several certifications in the Service within and outside the Country.

Before assuming the office of the Customs Area Controller, Tincan Island Port Area Command, Frank O Onyeka was the officer in charge of the Premier Port Gate, where he worked tirelessly with the seating Area Controller in generating the massive trillions the Command has generated.
