Media award for Comptroller General of Customs holds at Lagos Airport Hotel
The presentation of Iconic Maritime Personality of the Year 2024 award to the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, by maritime journalists will now hold at Lagos Airport Hotel Ikeja on Thursday, January 16, 2025 by 6pm.
The organizers of the award had earlier billed the award presentation for the conference hall of Apapa Command, Nigeria Customs Service.

The change in the venue, according to the organizers, became expedient because of convenience and glamour.
The organizers are the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN), League of Maritime Editors (LOME), Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON), Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN), Shipping Correspondents Association of Nigeria (SCAN), Online Maritime Media Association of Nigeria (OMMAN) and Congress of Nigerian Maritime Media Practitioners (CONMMEP).
The associations noted that the award is in recognition of the sterling and excellent performance of the Comptroller General of Customs since his assumption of office in 2023.
