Duncan Bonded Terminal’s Chairman, Godfrey Shitgurum, is dead

Dr Godfrey Bawa Shitgurum, the Executive Chairman of Duncan Group of Companies and Duncan Bonded Terminal, is dead.

According to a statement from his family and signed by Mr Larry Bawa, the longstanding customs agent and freight forwarder, passed on in Abuja on Sunday the 2nd of February 2025.

Godfrey Shitgurum was steadfast in his chosen career with the Duncan Maritime Ventures, the flagship, burgeoning in the 90s and metamorphosing into a business tentacle that included Duncan Bonded Terminal, Duncan lnternational, an aviation handling company with contacts in aviation industries worldwide.

Duncan Group also had thrusts in import/export trades in the Asian Tiger corridors, bringing in large volumes of industrial equipment and home appliances.

A devout Christian, until his death, Dr Godfrey Shitgurum was a philanthropist and a community leader. He was a member of the Association of lndigenous Bonded Terminals Operators of Nigeria and was bestowed with the National honour of Member of the Order of the Niger,( MON) by the Federal Government.

He is survived by his wife, Bishop Tina Bawa, children, grand children and his siblings.
