MWUN, BOAN reiterate commitment to boosting cargo operations

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) and the Berge Operators Association of Nigeria (BOAN) have reiterated their commitments working together to boost cargo handling operations in Nigerian seaports.

While the BOAN Vice President, Mr. Hyginus Chichebem Ndukwe, said BOAN members were ready and willing to do business with the Union, the MWUN President-General, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi promised a good working relationship with BOAN.

The BOAN Vice President, Mr. Hyginus Chichebem Ndukwe, gave pledge when he led BOAN delegation on a courtesy visit to MWUN President-General, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, recently.

Hyginus Chichebem Ndukwe, who congratulated Abi on his electoral victory, said the MWUN is capable of accommodating BOAN, considering its magnitude and mode of operations in the country’s maritime industry.

Chichebem said the visit was not just only a courtesy one, but also to familiarize with the President General with the view to seeking a beneficial collaboration with the Maritime Workers Union on various areas of common interest in the maritime sector.
Comrade Bunu promised to do his best within the confine of the Union asserting that MWUN is always open to genuine collaboration at all times, especially within the industrial sector.

Bunu thanked the BOAN for their visit and promised them a good working relationship as soon as the said proposal is hatched.
