Cargo stakeholders identify export hindrances as SAHCO boasts of having best cargo handling equipment
As Nigerian exporters, logistics professionals, customs agents and freight forwarders have identified challenges hindering export activities, Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC says it has some of the best cargo handling equipment to service them.
The challenges identified at the Cargo Stakeholders’ Meeting organized by SAHCO in Lagos included poor packaging, lack of effective product traceability, inadequate regulations and training and certification for operators
The meeting served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and reform-oriented discussions aimed at enhancing trade facilitation and operational efficiency within the cargo logistics value chain.
The participants emphasized the importance of addressing these challenges to align Nigeria’s cargo sector with international standards and promote economic diversification.

The export stakeholders called for regulatory improvements and ethical practices in documentation and freight processing, agreeing that strengthening professionalism and accountability is essential for improving reliability and competitiveness in the cargo industry.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director/CEO, Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin, told the participants that SAHCO is dedicated and determined to investing in modern equipment and facilities to boost cargo handling operations.
Aboderin, represented at the event by Executive Director of Cargo Services, Mrs. Boma Ukwunna, boasted that her company has some of the most advanced ground support and warehousing infrastructure in Nigeria, geared toward ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant cargo handling.
She reaffirmed SAHCO’s commitment to revitalizing Nigeria’s cargo and aviation handling sector through a strategic engagement session with key industry stakeholders.
SAHCO reiterated its position as a catalyst for innovation and sectoral growth, pledging continued collaboration with industry actors to shape the future of Nigeria’s air cargo ecosystem.
