MMA2 opens to flight operations despite protest by Farmcraft Centre

The Murtala Mohammed Airport 2 (MMA2) says it is opened to operations despite flight schedule disruption caused by the protest of the Farmcraft Centre for the Blind.

Regretting the disruption, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, owners of MMA2, apologised to all air passengers who fly through the airport over the inconvenience they faced earlier today.

The Head, Corporate Communications, Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, tendered the apology in a statement she made available to PortNews in Lagos on Monday, August 11, 2025.

According to her, “We sincerely apologize to all passengers who have experienced inconvenience due to flight schedule disruptions caused by the ongoing protest by the Farmcraft Centre for the Blind.

“While we want to reassure you that MMA2 remains open and all airport operations continue as usual, we recognize that any disruption to your travel plans causes significant inconvenience and frustration. We deeply regret the impact this situation has had on your journey.

“Our staff and security teams are actively monitoring the situation and working diligently to minimize further disruptions while ensuring a smooth experience for all travelers. We are committed to resolving this matter as quickly and safely as possible.

“We thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation during this challenging time. We will continue to provide updates as the situation develops and look forward to serving you under normal circumstances very soon.”

The protest embarked by the Farmcraft caused traffic congestion on the road leading to the airport.
