The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has given royal blessings to the operations of the Nigeria Customs Service, particularly the Apapa Area Command under the leadership of Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba.
The monarch said the Customs, under Comptroller General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi, has been very proactive in contributing to the national economy and security.
The Kabiyesi gave the royal blessings when he received Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, in his palace.
According to him, Adeniyi’s diligence and hard work earned him an extension, which Nigeria is benefiting from in many ways, including revenue collection, trade facilitation, and national security.
He commended the NCS for its giant strides and urged the Service to keep giving its best for the economic, security, and social well-being of the country and its people.
While offering royal prayers for the NCS, the monarch urged the NCS to promote justice and fairness in the discharge of its duties.
The monarch also described Comptroller Oshoba as someone from one of the best families in Ogun State, whom he also described as his son.
In his remarks, Comptroller Oshoba thanked the Oba of Lagos for his royal blessings, his support, and hospitality.
Oshoba described Lagos as very vital to Customs operations in the country because the state accounts for over 50 per cent of revenue collection made by the Service.
According to Oshoba, the visit was to pay a Royal homage to the revered traditional institution and formally introduce himself and members of his team to Oba Rilwan Akiolu and his high chiefs.
