NCAA gets new Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Management

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) now has a new Director, Aerodrome and Airspace Standards (DAAS). He is Alhaji Ahmad Abba who has since assumed office.

Alhaji Ahmad Abba took over DAAS following a minor redeployment endorsed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo.

Engineer Godwin Balang, the former DAAS, is now in charge of the Directorate of Airworthiness Standards (DAWS) as the director.

He took over from the immediate past Director, Engr. Victor Goyea who would be taking a new role at Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) as the Director of Special Duties.

At a brief handover ceremony held at the Director-General’s Board Room, NCAA Corporate Headquarters in Abuja on December 24, 2025, Engr. Balang walked the new director through the core responsibilities of DAAS, the recent reforms and projections ahead.

Responding after the handover, Alh. Abba, who until his recent redeployment served as the Director of Special Duties at Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), promised to bring his vast experience to bear in sustaining achievements recorded so far in DAAS.
