The Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) has felicitated Mr Tunji Disu on his appointment as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mr. Disu assumed office on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 after his decoration by President Tinubu with his new rank at the State House in Abuja.

In a statement, the APFFLON President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, sent the congratulatory message to the new Police boss in the country.

According to the statement, “APFFLON notes that your emergence comes at a critical time when Nigeria requires decisive leadership to strengthen national security, restore public confidence in the Police Force, and address emerging criminal threats affecting economic and strategic sectors.

“As stakeholders in the nation’s logistics and maritime value chain, we emphasize the urgent need for comprehensive retraining and reorientation of officers toward intelligence-led policing, professionalism, and respect for human rights. Modern security challenges demand improved capacity, technological integration, and stronger inter-agency collaboration.

“We also call for immediate attention to the welfare of serving officers and retired personnel. Enhanced working conditions, adequate equipment, improved remuneration, and a sustainable pension structure are essential to boosting morale and ensuring integrity within the Force.

“A reformed, disciplined, and well-motivated Police Force remains fundamental to national stability, investor confidence, and economic growth.

“APFFLON assures the Inspector-General of its readiness to collaborate in promoting secure trade corridors and strengthening national security architecture.”
