The new President of the League of Maritime Editors (LOME), Mr. Felix Kumuyi, has promised that he and members of his executive will work hard to deliver on the mandate of the association.

Mr. Felix Kumuyi, a former Secretary of association, emerged with other officers during the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos, on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

In his acceptance speech after the election, Kumuyi thanked members for the confidence in choosing him to lead the association.

“I am deeply honoured by the confidence reposed in me and other members of Executive Committee. I do not take this mandate for granted. Rather, I see it as a call to service, a call to build on the achievements of those who came before us, and a call to reposition the League for greater relevance, visibility and influence within Nigeria’s maritime sector,” he said.

Other elected officers were Mr Francis Ugwoke – Vice President, Mr Eguono Odjegba – Secretary General, Mr Tony Ohakwe – Treasurer, Mr Shola Mekusi – Financial Secretary/Welfare Officer and Mr Okey Iroegbu – Public Relations Officer.

Kumuyi, who took over from former President, Mrs. Remi Itie, would run the affairs of the association with other officers in the next two years.

Members of the new executive were sworn at the end of the seminar/AGM.
