SCP Launch: Aviation Minister reaffirms commitment to aviation safety
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to climate resilience and aviation safety.
The Minister stated this at the launch of NiMet’s 2025 Seasonal Climate Prediction (SCP) in Abuja, yesterday.
The SCP document predicts significant rainfall events at the beginning of 2025 in most parts of the country and these rains will likely come before the onset.

“This is more than a forecast, it’s a tool for resilience, sustainability, and national progress,” said the Minister.
Present at the SCP Launch were the Managing Director of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku; the Director General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo; and the Managing Director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engineer Farouk Ahmed Umar.
