NUJ tasks LASTMA over indiscriminate arrest of motorists

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, has called on the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) to shun incessant and indiscriminate arrests of motorists over minor offences.

The Union made the call over the weekend during its Congress in Ikeja, Lagos and urged the LASTMA to be more alive to its responsibilities and be more correctional in its operations.

The Congress commended the outgoing chairmen of local government councils that did well while also challenged the incoming ones to do well.

On Government – Citizens relationship, the Congress urged the state government to take cognizance of the effects of its policies on residents.

The Congress urged the Lagos State Consumers Protection Agency to check the proliferation of expired products in stores and supermarkets.
