Adeyanju excited over nomination of Deputy PG, Bunu, as recipient of outstanding Seafarer of 2024 Award

The President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, has expressed satisfaction with the nomination of  his Deputy, Comrade Francis Bunu, as recipient of the Prestigious Adewale Adeyanju Prize as Most Outstanding Seafarer, 2024.

The award was bestowed on the labour leader by Maritime Media Ltd,  organizers of the Annual Maritime Industry Merit awards, (MIMA).

Speaking after presenting the letter of nomination to Comrade Francis Bunu in Lagos on Saturday, Comrade Adeyanju described Bunu as a tested and trusted professional who he said was worthy of the award.

He described the Deputy PG as a man of Integrity who he said has the capacity and leadership skills to take the Union to a higher  level.

Adeyanju paid glowing tribute to Comrade Francis Bunu whom he described as a dependable ally in his crusade to put the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria on the global stage.

In his response, Comrade  Bunu described the award as a call to service and promised to work even harder to justify the honour bestowed on him by Maritime Media Ltd.

“I see this award as a call to service and a challenge for me to do even more,” he said.
