The Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA), Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo, has stated that aviation security is a shared responsibility requiring strong inter-agency cooperation and reaffirmed the commitment of the NCAA to it.
Captain Chris Najomo stated this when officers of the 176 Presidential Guards Battalion, Nigerian Army, led by Commanding Officer Lt. Colonel Oladimeji Ajongbo, paid a courtesy visit to the NCAA headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
Describing the visit as timely, the DGCA commended the military’s professionalism and commitment to national security, emphasizing NCAA’s central role in coordinating aviation security through the National Civil Aviation Security Committee.
Speaking,.Lt. Colonel Oladimeji Ajongbo reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to securing Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport through patrols, intelligence gathering, and joint operations.
The Director of Aviation Security Regulation (DAVSEC), Dr. Bernard Omogo, reiterated the Authority’s commitment to regulatory support and seamless coordination with the military and other partners.
The NCAA and the 176 Presidential Guards Battalion reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration to safeguard Nigeria’s aviation industry.
