Comptroller Onyeka decorates newly promoted officers as Command collects N159 billion revenue

On Wednesday, 17 September, 2025, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, Customs Area Controller of Tin Can Island Port Command, Nigeria Customs Service, decorated the newly promoted officers of the command with their new ranks.

Notable among the officers decorated was the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Oscar Ivara. He was decorated with his new rank of Chief Supreteindent of Customs. Before this new rank, Ivara was a Supreteindent of Customs.

Speaking during the decoration at the command’s head office at Tin Can Island Port, Lagos, Comptroller Onyeka appreciated the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, over the promotions as a lot officers of the command benefitted from the promotion exercise. He congratulated the promoted officers and charged them to rededicate themselves to their official duties.

Saying the news ranks come with a lot of challenges, Onyeka admonished officers who were not promoted not to be despaired as there is still a room for them to benefit in the next promotion exercise.

The Controller, who disclosed that the Command collected N159 billion revenue in August, attributed the successes recorded by the command since he assumed office to the dedication of all officers and men and the unflinching support of all port stakeholders.

On the B’Odogwu platform, he said the tool is doing well and will continue to do better. According to him, the platform would take the Service to an Eldorado.

The ceremony was attended by the Customs Area Controller of Ports & Terminal Multiservices Limited Command, Comptroller Anani, and key port stakeholders.
