FAAN sensitises cargo operators on ICSR documentation

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has sensitized air cargo operators on documentation requirements for the development of the Integrated Cargo Stakeholders Registry (ICSR) and the introduction of enhanced access control measures within the cargo environment.

The air cargo operators were sensitised during a stakeholder engagement held by its Directorate of Cargo Development and Services (DCDS) in Lagos recently.

FAAN explained that the Registry will support improved coordination, compliance, and operational transparency, while also strengthening access control within cargo operational areas by ensuring that only duly documented and authorized stakeholders operate within restricted zones.

The engagement brought together representatives of freight forwarders and cargo agents, airlines, ground handling companies, courier operators, truckers operating within the cargo ecosystem.

The session focused on the ongoing documentation exercise required for the establishment of the Integrated Cargo Stakeholders Registry, an initiative designed to create a centralized and verified database of legitimate operators across the cargo value chain at FAAN airports.

The engagement also provided an opportunity to brief stakeholders on other developmental initiatives being pursued by the Directorate to enhance cargo operations and support the continued growth of Nigeria’s air cargo sector.
