The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has performed a comprehensive review of the progress made under the Managing Director/CE’s transformative pillars, with emphasis on embedding sustainable growth, operational excellence, innovation, and long-term value creation across its airport network.

The FAAN management carried out the review during the 2026 FAAN Management Retreat, themed “Consolidating Gains and Institutionalizing Sustainable Growth, in Lagos.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, declared open the retreat.

The theme focused on strengthening operational resilience through discussions on Airport Safety, Security, Facilitation, and Crisis Management, with particular emphasis on enhancing communication and emergency response protocols.

The session also provided a platform for the identification of key operational challenges and the development of practical, forward-looking solutions aimed at aligning FAAN’s strategic objectives with global best practices in airport management and service delivery.

On the opening day, the retreat focused on critical discussions around positioning FAAN for the future through sustained reforms, examining global and African airport development trends, enhancing process standardization and performance management across Nigeria’s airports, and advancing infrastructure modernization and operational efficiency.

The proceedings on the final day of the retreat culminated in the consolidation of key insights, the development of actionable implementation frameworks, and the reaffirmation of institutional commitments towards sustainable growth, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the authority.
