IATA Ground Handling Conference in Kenya attests to Africa’s rising profile in global aviation – M&S Logistics MD

The Managing Director of M&S Global Logistics Ltd, Mr. Oluwaseun Ojo, has stated that the 7th IATA Ground Handling Conference (IGHC) 2025, held in Kenya recently, is historic and a testament to Africa’s rising profile in global aviation.

In an interaction with PortNews in Lagos, Mr. Ojo, who was one of the participants at the event, held in Africa for the first time, made this known.

The M&S MD said it was an honour for him to join global aviation leaders, regulators, and stakeholders in exploring innovations in ground operations-from digitisation and automation to harmonised safety standards and capacity-building initiatives.

He said the Kenya’s experience would impact not only his company but the logistics industry at large in Nigeria.

“This historic milestone is a testament to Africa’s rising profile in global aviation and Kenya’s central role as a hub for dialogue, innovation, and leadership. The gathering brought together industry experts, regulators, and decision-makers to exchange knowledge and shape the future of safe, sustainable, and technology-driven ground handling.

“I was deeply honoured to join global aviation leaders, regulators, and stakeholders in exploring innovations in ground operations-from digitisation and automation to harmonised safety standards and capacity-building initiatives,” said Ojo, who promised to continue supporting initiatives that will elevate the industry in Nigeria and Africa.

“I remain committed to supporting initiatives that elevate the continent’s role in international aviation through collaboration, innovation, and advocacy,” said he.

7th IATA Ground Handling Conference (IGHC) 2025, IATA’s flagship event focused on advancing global standards in ground operations. The conference took place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi and was graciously hosted by Kenya Airways.
