ITF Women’s Wing Nigeria elects officers

The Women’s Wing of International Transport Workers Federation (ITF), Nigeria, has elected new executive members.

The election of the new executive took place during the Women Delegate Conference held in December, 2024 in Lagos.

The members of the new executive cut across all labour unions that are affiliated with ITF in Nigeria. The unions are – Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Air Transport Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSAN), Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP) and others.

Comrade Funmi Fasan from MWUN was elected as Chairperson, Comrade Omolabake Adelakun from ROAD elected as Vice Chairperson, Comrade Safiya Araya from NUATE elected as Vice Chairperson, Comrade Amos Chidiebele from Military/Navy elected as Secretary, Comrade Rukayat Shuaibu from ATSAAN elected as Asst Secretary, Comrade Ayegba Sarah from Railway got the position of Treasurer and Ogochukwu Ibegbunam from ANAP elected as Financial Secretary

Others elected were Comrade Modupe Odunmuyiwa from ROAD elected as Auditor, Comrade Onyeka Anthonia from RAIL got the position of Welfare, Comrade Okezie Dickson Ijeoma from Military/Navy elected as 1st Trustee, Comrade Uguru Fidelia Uwaoma from NUATE elected as 2nd Trustee, Comrade Oloyede Olaide from ATSSAN got the position of 1st PRO, Comrade Popoola Temitope from MWUN elected as  2nd PRO and the last position, Ex-Officio, went to Comrade Igbokwe Ngozi Tochi.

The new officers are to serve for the next four years as stipulated in the constitution.
