Lagos NUJ Scribe bags PJAN award
The Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, Mr. Tunde Olalere, has added another feather to his cap as he was honoured during the 2025 World Photography Day celebration.
The event, organised by the Photo Journalists Association of Nigeria (PJAN), took place at the DAP Experience Centre, Lekki, Lagos, on Tuesday.
Mr. Olalere received an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the journalism profession. The award was jointly presented by Aremo Olusegun Osoba, former Governor of Ogun State; HRM Adeboye Charles, the Lebu II of Ojula Kingdom, Ondo State; and PJAN Chairperson, Mrs. Alaba Igbaroola.
In his response, Mr. Olalere encouraged journalists to remain dedicated to the pen profession while emphasising the critical role of photography in storytelling.
“I want to encourage journalists, especially those of the Lagos State Council, to flesh up their stories with pictures. By so doing, this will bring about credibility and originality,” he said.
He also addressed journalism students from Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), urging them to draw inspiration from the event and see themselves as future leaders of the profession.
The Lagos NUJ Executive Council, led by the Chairman, also extended warm congratulations to Mr. Olalere for achieving this commendable feat.
