In a few hours from now, the year 2025 will pave the way for the year 2026 as Nigerians are making frantic preparations to usher in the new year.
In his new year message to Nigerians, the President-General of Maritme Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, has sent best wishes to Nigerians, commending them over their resilience to live through the year 2025 characterised by insecurity, hardship, unemployment, and high cost of living and transportation.
Thanking Nigerians for their resilience, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi celebrated them, saying Nigerians stood firm weathering the storms of socio-economic pressure that had ravaged the country.
The maritime labour leader said there was no other way Nigerans could have survived 2025 if not for their resilience, thoroughness, endurance, comportment, hope and faith, which, he said, are the characteristics of Nigerans at any difficult situation. “In turmoil or disaster, as the case may be, Nigerians have always found recipe from their positive attributes of life. That’s every Nigerian I know,” said MWUN leader.
The pragmatic labour leader encouraged Nigerans to continue to preserve, praying that in the New Year 2026 will usher in joy as a success story of every individual Nigerian which will come in various manifestations.
He urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to urgently look into the plights of Nigerians, saying that Nigerians suffered so much lack in the years past. “The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR must begin to reflect on Nigerans as we sail into 2026. This is the only way my fellow country men can be compensated for their daily tears of hardship, which they suffered in diverse dimensions,” said he.
On his final note, the MWUN PG enjoined Nigerians to join hands together with the Federal Government to make Nigeria better country in the years ahead. “In peace, unity and faith, we can conquer our fears of living in harmony; wishing all Nigerans a prosperous Happy New Year, enmeshed in good quality life,” said the labour leader.
