NCAA issues AVSEC Authorisation Certificates institutions

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued Aviation Security (AVSEC) Authorization Certificates to six institutions and service providers, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening aviation security standards and regulatory compliance in Nigeria’s aviation sector.

The certified institutions are FAAN Aviation Training School; Maiken Security and Consultancy Services Limited; Chigurad Services Nigeria Limited; Safety Signatures Limited; Jomaric Security Service Nigeria Limited; and Vani Security.

Speaking at the certificate presentation ceremony held in Lagos on Thursday, May 21, 2026, the Director-General Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, represented by Director, Aviation Security Regulation, Dr. Bernard Omogo, remarked that certification remains a mandatory requirement for all institutions engaged in aviation security operations and its approval is strictly based on compliance with established regulatory standards.

Also speaking, the General Manager, AVSEC, Dr. Amzat Ibrahim, described the exercise as a new phase of verification for service providers.

He explained that, while some s undergone renewal, others received the unified NCAA certification, which validity period has been extended from two years to three years, for the first time.

Apart from top officials of the NCAA, others in attendance included representatives of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Ministry of Aviation, and a host of stakeholders and operators within the aviation security sector.

In a vote of thanks, representatives of the service providers expressed appreciation to the NCAA for the certification exercise, describing it as a significant initiative.

They, however, pledged continued compliance with aviation security regulations, and commitment to uphold professionalism and global best practices in their operations.
