NCAA to partner NCAT, NASRDA on aviation training and national security
The Director General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo, has promised that NCAA would provide necessary support and assistance to Nigeria College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) to promote aviation development in the country.
Captain Chris Najomo made the promise when the Rector of NCAT, Dr. Danjuma Ismail, paid a visit to him in Abuja on Thursday, May 15, 2024.
Speaking earlier, Dr. Danjuma Ismail, who sought the support and collaboration with NCAA, disclosed that NCAT is planning to upgrade its infrastructure to meet training needs and is seeking NCAA’s support for the project, potentially through corporate social responsibility or joint partnership.
He believed that the collaboration would enhance the skills and knowledge of aviation professionals, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulations in a view to raising revenue for the institution.
He further added that the partnership would not only improve safety and efficiency in the aviation sector but also pave way for joint development of initiatives and sharing of expertise.
In another development, NCAA and National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) planned to work together in areas of rocket programmes, hot air balloon regulation, and safe drone deployment.

Capt. Najomo expressed enthusiasm with the partnership, noting its potential to strengthen national security through authorized drone use for surveillance and advanced communication systems.
A joint committee was established to oversee the collaboration and the agencies expressed their commitment with a symbolic gift exchange.
Other NCAA directors present at the meeting, underscored the Authority’s unified support for the partnership.
This collaboration aims to harness the forte of both agencies in strengthening national security and drive innovation in aerospace technology.
