To prevent stowaway, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) enlightened community leaders, youths, and residents of Snake Island, Lagos, on the dangers and consequences of stowing away on vessels.
This engagement was part of the NIMASA campaign initiative against stowaways, creating public awareness at the grassroots communities.
Leading the campaign, Head of ISPS, Mr. Mudi Isa, emphasized that stowaway incidents damage Nigeria’s reputation in the global maritime community and reaffirmed NIMASA’s commitment to preventive awareness through community engagement.
The Snake Island residents commended NIMASA for the enlightenment campaign, describing it as timely and impactful.
