Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC has acquired new ultra-modern Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to enhance aircraft handling operations across its nationwide network.

In a statement, Mrs. Adetola Vanessa Uansohia, Head, Corporate Communications, SAHCO, said this acquisition forms part of company’s ongoing investment in cutting-edge GSE aimed at improving safety, reducing aircraft turnaround time, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering world-class service to airline partners.

According to her, “As the only aviation ground handling company with operational presence across all commercially operated airports in Nigeria, SAHCO continues to set industry benchmarks through continuous equipment upgrades, technological advancement, and service innovation.

“The addition of these ultra-modern units further strengthens SAHCO’s position as a leader in aviation ground handling in Africa, driven by excellence, reliability, and customer-focused solutions,” said

The new equipment included a state-of-the-art pushback tractor, Goldhofer F300, powered by a robust diesel engine, to service most wide-body aircraft and constructed with rugged materials suited to Nigeria’s operating terrain. The equipment has already been deployed to one of the company’s hub stations to further strengthen service delivery standards.

In addition, the company acquired five Ground Power Units (GPUs). Each unit features a capacity of 45kVA on 115 volts and 115 on 28VDC, providing reliable and efficient electrical power to aircraft systems while on ground. Powered by fuel-efficient gasoline engines, the GPUs are designed for durability, portability, and superior ramp performance, making them ideal for modern airport operations.
