SOAN commends NIMASA over reforms as NIMASA calls for collaboration

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has been commended over its various reforms that have continued to strengthen the maritime sector.

The President of Shipowners Association of Nigeria (SOAN), Mr. Sonny Eja, gave this commendation during a working visit to NIMASA in company of members of his executive on Thursday November 20, 2025.

The SOAN President reaffirmed the association’s commitment to partner NIMASA for the development of the maritime industry especially in the area of fleet expansion.

Welcoming the delegation, the NIMASA Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, emphasized the importance of collaboration and shared capacity development noting that these are essential for industry growth.

The visit brought together NIMASA Management and the SOAN Executives highlighting a shared commitment to deeper collaboration and capacity building across Nigeria’s maritime industry.
