Stakeholders indicate interest to attend 19th TransQuest Anniversary Lecture/Awards

A long list of professionals in the transport industry have indicated interest to attend the 19th edition of TransQuest  Anniversary/Transport Development Symposium & Awards on Saturday, November 09, 2024 at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja.

This is contained in a statement released and signed by Mr. Felix Kumuyi, Publisher of TransQuest Magazine, the organiser of the event.

The theme of the event is “Harnessing Nigeria’s Trade Tariff System for Economic Growth” and with a sub theme: “Curbing Influx of Fraudulent Imports through the Nation’s Ports”.

According to the statement, a renowned customs broker, Prince Olayiwola Shittu, CEO, Skelas Group of Companies and former president of Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), is the Chairman while the Main Guest Lecturer is Professor Bamidele Badejo, Department of Geography, Olabisi Onabnjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State. 

Comptroller General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi, Barrister Pius Akutah Ukeyima, the Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Shippers’ Council,  Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency are expected at the event as the Special Guests.

The statement listed Legal Luminary, Jean Chiazor & Partners, Princess Vicky Haastrup, Executive Vice Chairman of ENL Consortium Limited; Customs Area Controllers, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, President General of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria, Dr. Ade Dosumu, former Director General of NIMASA; Barrister Temisan Omatseye, former Director General of NIMASA, Prince Segun Oduntan, National Vice President of Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents as Guests of Honour.

Mr. Felix Kumuyi noted that the Royal Father of the Day is Alhaji Usman Kankara Bello mni, Kanwan Katsina.

Kumuyi, who is the Chief Host, said the event is part of efforts by TransQuest Magazine to contribute to the growth and development of the maritime/transport sector.

He noted that notable corporate organisations and individuals who have contributed to the growth of the industry shall be honoured with various awards at the event.
