AIG Maritime acknowledges importance of maritime stakeholders’ partnerships

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, has acknowledged the significance of regulatory partnerships in the maritime industry.

The AIG stated this when he received a delegation of the National Compliance Joint Task Force of Licensed Clearing Agents (NCJTFLCA) who visited him at the Force Headquarters Annex, Kam Salem House, Lagos, recently.

The National President of the Task Force, High Chief Dr. Basil Nwolisa, said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaborative efforts in ensuring compliance, transparency, and accountability within Nigeria’s maritime and logistics sectors.

High Chief Dr. Basil Nwolisa, who led the delegation, formally introduced the newly inaugurated national officers of the Task Force to the Maritime Police Command.

Dr. Nwolisa reaffirmed the Task Force’s willingness to support the Nigeria Police Force through the Maritime Police Command, in sanitizing the industry through information sharing, compliance monitoring, and ethical advocacy.

Speaking further, AIG Garba commended the Task Force for its commitment to upholding lawful practices in forwarding, clearing, and logistics operations across the nation’s ports.

He emphasized the Command’s readiness to work with credible stakeholders who are equally committed to curbing economic sabotage, enhancing port security, and promoting professionalism among licensed agents. He charged the Task Force to ensure that its activities are guided by due process and lawful enforcement mechanisms.
