Four coaches of Warri-Itakpe Train derailed

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed that four coaches of the Warri–Itakpe Train Service (WITS) derailed off the track today.

The Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, disclosed this development to PortNews but was not specific about the time of the incident and if there were casualties.

According to Opeifa, “emergency response teams and relevant authorities are currently at the scene attending to the situation and providing necessary assistance.

“The Corporation is closely monitoring developments and a detailed information on the incident will be made available as soon as possible.”

He, however, urged the public to remain calm and rely only on official channels for verified updates.
