The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, says the Command is committed and fully in support of the objectives of the National Single Window initiative, particularly in the areas of security, transparency, and efficient maritime operations.
AIG Musa Yusuf Garba stated this when he received a delegation from the National Single Window (NSW) Secretariat at the Command Headquarters, Obalende, Lagos, last week.
The visit was part of the Secretariat’s ongoing engagements with critical stakeholders in the maritime and trade facilitation sector, aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration in line with the Federal Government’s vision for seamless port operations and enhanced national revenue mobilization.
The meeting provided an avenue for the Maritime Police Command and the NSW Secretariat to deliberate on strategies to improve coordination, address emerging challenges, and promote effective management of maritime trade processes.
The Maritime Police Command remains dedicated to fostering partnerships that enhance maritime safety, strengthen national security, and support the economic development of the country.
In another development, the Command, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba received a delegation from the Organising Committee of the Lagos International Maritime Week (LIMWeek) 2025, led by the Conference Convener, Mrs. Oritsematosan Edodo-Emore.
The visit, which took place at the Command Headquarters, Obalende, Lagos, formed part of the Committee’s stakeholder engagements ahead of the 10th edition of the Lagos International Maritime Week scheduled to hold on the 29th and 30th of September, 2025, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island.
In her remarks, Mrs. Oritsematosan highlighted the objectives of LIMWeek 2025, which include fostering dialogue on maritime security, and strengthening Nigeria’s blue economy through collaboration with critical stakeholders. She emphasized the importance of Maritime Police Command, in ensuring a secure maritime environment for sustainable growth.
In his response, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba commended the organizers for their consistency in sustaining the conference over the years and assured them of the Command’s support. He reaffirmed that maritime security remains a top priority for the Nigeria Police Force, stressing that strategic partnerships such as LIMWeek play a vital role in economic development.
The courtesy visit provided an avenue to deepen collaboration between the Maritime Police Command and the Organising Committee, as well as to deliberate on practical strategies that would contribute to the success of LIMWeek 2025.
The Maritime Police Command reiterates its commitment to strengthening security, fostering partnerships, and supporting initiatives that advance Nigeria’s maritime sector.
