MMA Command collects ₦45.7 billion revenue
The Customs Area Controller of Murtala Mohammed Airport Cargo Command, Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Michael Toyin Awe, has disclosed that the command collected ₦45,773,368,690.00 in the first quarter of 2025 against ₦45,496,389,766.00 collected in the same period in 2024.
The 2025 first quarter revenue was increased by ₦276,978,924.00 above that of 2024, representing 0.61% increase.
Comptroller Awe briefed the media on the revenue performance at the command headquarters at the Lagos Airport in Ikeja.
He attributed the impressive revenue figure to an increased level of compliance by our stakeholders, continuous monitoring and enforcement of trade regulations as well as prompt intervention and blockage of identified loopholes.
“We commend all the command’s compliant traders and stakeholders who have continued to support the command’s revenue drive in line with the Service’s mandate,” said the Controller.

The total Duty Paid Value of these seizures, according to him, stood at One Hundred and Thirty Million, Four Hundred and Sixty Thousand, One Hundred and Thirty Five Naira, Forty Nine Kobo only (₦132,460,135.49).
He added that 75 bags of pangolin scales weighing 3,765 kilogrammes and worth about Seven Hundred and Seventy Two Million Naira (₦772,000,000.00k) weee seized.
He said the seizures were made possible through intelligence sharing, continuous profiling and vigilance by the officers and commitment and cooperation of all sister agencies.
While admitting that low import has negatively impacted on the revenue target revenue of the command, he however expressed the hope that as the nation transitions to the B’Odogwu software application platform, better efficiency will be achieved.
