NCAA warns Rano Air, United Nigeria and XeJet over breach of consumer rights

Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has reiterated that it is obligatory for airlines to comply fully with the consumer rights while warning that persistent non-compliance will attract regulatory consequences.

The Directorate of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, NCAA, Mr. Michael Achimugu, gave the warning during an engagement with representatives of Rano Air, United Nigeria Airlines and XeJet over the violation of consumer rights.

The engagement, held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, focused on breaches of NCAA Part 19 Regulations, particularly those concerning consumer rights in cases of flight delays, flight cancellations, refunds, care and accommodation, as well as the right to information during the busy yuletide travel season.

Achimugu said “airlines are required to comply fully with the provisions of Regulation Part 19 and warned that persistent non-compliance will attract regulatory consequences.”
