13

On Wednesday, December 17, 2025,  SIFAX Group hosted the third edition of its Annual Thanksgiving and Praise Night. The event, themed “God’s Faithfulness, Our Gratitude”.

The convention hall of Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, venue of the event, turned into a sanctuary of gratitude – songs and praises – and celebration with a vibrant display of corporate unity and glamour, bringing together the Group’s board, management, staff, clients, senior government officials, and other stakeholders.

Setting the tone in the welcome address for the event, Mr. Babatunde Afolabi, Executive Director, Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc, said the event was to appreciate God for His hands of faithfulness, mercy, blessings and kindness that He has extended to us as a company.

Babatunde Afolabi said “From our chairman to his family, our businesses, our directors, our staff, our clients, and other stakeholders, we are convinced that God indeed has visited us in 2025, and we are here today as grateful people to repay this faithfulness with our grateful hearts and praise to God Almighty.

“The Bible reminds us in Psalm 127 verse 1 that Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.” This truth has continued to define the SIFAX Group story. As we reflect on the outgoing business year, it is evident that our achievements, resilience, and progress were not by might, nor by power, but by the grace and faithfulness of God.

“The year under review came with its own share of challenges. Operating within a dynamic economic environment, marked by regulatory changes, infrastructural pressures, and global uncertainties, required wisdom, discipline, and courage. Yet, God remained our anchor. He granted us clarity in decision-making, stability in operations, and the strength to keep moving forward when the road seemed uncertain.

“We are grateful for preservation — of lives, families, and of the SIFAX Group brand. We thank God for sustained growth across our subsidiaries, for new opportunities unlocked, for partnerships strengthened, and for the confidence our customers continue to repose in us. Above all, we thank Him for the spirit of unity and excellence that continues to define our people.”

He appreciate the Board of Directors, led Chairman, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, for their guidance, the management teams for their leadership and strategic direction, and every member of staff for their dedication, integrity, and hard work. “Your commitment remains the backbone of this organisation. We also acknowledge our clients, partners, regulators, host communities and our media friends for walking this journey with us,” said he.

“At SIFAX Group, we believe that business success must be anchored on strong values, ethical conduct, and a deep sense of responsibility to society. As we return thanks today, we reaffirm our commitment to building an organisation that honours God through excellence, service, and positive impact.

“As we prepare to step into a new business year, our prayer is for renewed strength, greater wisdom, and divine direction. We trust God to take us to higher levels of growth, innovation, and influence, even as we remain steadfast in our purpose and values,” said Afolabi.

Speaking on the rationale behind the gathering, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman, SIFAX Group, noted that the event serves as a way of appreciating God for His faithfulness to the SIFAX Group family in 2025.

As we reflect on the outgoing business year, it is evident that our achievements, resilience, and progress were not by might, nor by power, but by the grace and faithfulness of God,” Afolabi stated. He emphasised that, despite dynamic economic challenges and global uncertainties, the company remained anchored in divine clarity and stability.

The Thanksgiving atmosphere was charged from start to finish as a star-studded lineup of music ministers led the congregation in continuous worship.

The musical experience was a masterclass in diversity and devotion, beginning with Omotola Sax and the Ijebu Anglican Choir, after which Eyinju Jesu took the stage to lead the gathering in a hot praise session. The Nonso Choir, thereafter, stirred a festive Christmas atmosphere by warming the gathering with soul-lifting carols and hymns.

This energy shifted gears as BJ Sax, renowned for his soul-stirring melodies, delivered an electrifying performance that threw the audience into an ecstatic dance, while Emma OMG added a mellow touch, blending a unique rhythmic flow that had both young and old swinging in delight.

At the heart of the night’s ministration was Adeyinka Alaseyori, who led powerful medleys specifically curated for appreciation and thanksgiving, followed by Dare Justified, whose spirit-filled worship and lifelong calling further deepened the spiritual intensity of the night.

The night reached its crescendo with powerhouse ministrations from Mercy Chinwo and Laolu Gbenjo, leaving participants with a profound sense of gratitude as the event unwound.

The SIFAX Group Annual Thanksgiving continues to stand as a testament to the company’s culture of gratitude, proving that even in a high-stakes corporate environment, recognising God as the source of success remains a priority.

The officiating  Bishop of Ijebu Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr Peter Oludipe, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman of SIFAX Group, and other esteemed guests, all participating in the SIFAX Group annual Thanksgiving programme.
