PCRC commends Maritime Police Command, promises to hold security workshop

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Maritime Command, Lagos Zonal Headquarters, has commended the Commissioner of Police, Maritime Command, CP Agene Emmanuel and his officers for their record breaking activities in 2024.

PCRC said criminalities record dropped by a wide margin in the period between January and December 2024 with residents and commended the Nigeria Police Force for the new found secured and safe environment.

Elder George Udoh, the Zonal Chairman of Maritime PCRC Headquarters, who led members of his executive on a Christmas visit on 23rd December 2024 to the headquarters at Kam Salem House, Force Headquarters ( Annex) Obalende, Lagos, gave the commendation.
Udoh, who disclosed that the PCRC is planning to hold security workshop in all coastal states, told the Police boss and his team that the feat was achieved with the collaborations of residents, key maritime stakeholders, PCRC and the Nigeria Police.

“We collaborated, networked on a 24 hour basis to keep the entire maritime domain safe and secure. If you are a stranger or visitor to any of our operational domains or any of the surroundings, we already identify you. We ask you questions, in very decent manners though,” noted the PCRC Chairman.
Udoh disclosed that the visit was a gesture of love for the officers and in appreciation of consummate Police officers who have sacrificed times and stress to keep the bursting port city and the maritime domain in general in peace.

“We have resolved to pay this kind of appreciative visits to key stakeholders who have supported us and sacrificed much to keep the flag flying. As a matter of fact, we intend to organise a security workshop this year to educate and enlighten Lagos and other maritime jurisdictions like Ogun ,Ondo, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross Rivers and Akwa lbom States people on security tips for their own good.
“We will not rest on our oars to ensure that peace and tranquility remains in Apapa,” offered Udoh.
Responding to his visitors, CP Maritime, Emmanuel Agene thanked the PCRC for the visit and described it as rare while thanking Elder Udoh for his patriotic fervour and love for humanity. He promised to give them all the support needed to discharge their duty.
The maritime command embraces not only the port environs but oil tanks communities, bonded terminals, their immediate surroundings and outlying coastal districts.
